An Elegant Bathroom Vanity Can Create a Whole New Look
If you're remodeling your bathroom, you'll need to choose a new bathroom vanity. Your vanity can make or break your whole decorating theme in the bathroom. Maybe you can think of it as the anchor piece of the room… it pulls everything together.
Bathrooms are important, and the amount of storage in a bathroom makes it valuable. Having cabinets and a vanity for storage will make your bathroom easier to use, less cluttered, and an asset to your home. Take a look at your bathroom. How large is it? Do you have room for a tall cabinet for towels and other accessories? If not, can all your toiletries fit in a well-designed vanity? Having enough storage will make your life easier, and if you ever place your home on the market, it will raise its value.
If you want your bathroom to match the rest of your home, look for similar
themes you can incorporate. For example, if you have oak cabinets
in the kitchen, you can also put an oak bathroom
vanity in your bathroom. This brings a similar look into the bathroom,
tying it all together. Likewise, if you have granite countertops in
the kitchen, you could bring in a granite countertop into the bathroom.
You can bring in these same elements, and then make them slightly
different with the decorating accessories. If you wanted a beach theme
in the bathroom, and still wanted to bring in the oak cabinetry, you
could pick up on the sandy color of the oak. Use the shower curtain,
toiletry organizers, towels and walls to bring in the feel of the
beach.
Besides picking a theme, you need a look. Do you like old Victorian furniture or sleek modern lines? What do you have in the rest of your house? While your bathroom certainly doesn't need to fit the rest of your house exactly, if you have lots of antique furniture, it may be a bit like culture shock to walk into an ultra modern bathroom, and vice versa. Try to keep a similar look throughout the house to tie it all together.
Think of who will be using the bathroom. Is this a shared bathroom for a married couple? The bathroom used primarily by teenagers or small children? Try to incorporate a little something for them in the bathroom they use to make them feel some ownership of it. (It may get them to help out with the cleaning as well!)
There are many bathroom
vanity options on the market that would suit almost any design
you wanted to put together. Take a look online and see some of the
many vanities there are to choose from. Do you like the look of real
wood? The ease of cleaning you get with laminate? Do you want it painted
or natural look? There are as many questions to answer as there are
vanities to choose from. Once you've found the right look at the right
price, all you need to do is install it. Vanities
are fairly simple to install if you like to do it yourself, or you
can hire a professional. After that, all you need is to sit back and
enjoy your new bathroom vanity.
